What Is a Tri Axle Tag Trailer?
3-axle trailer, triple-axle trailer or tri-axle trailer? Don’t get caught up in the terminology, they all mean the same thing, a trailer with three axles.
A tri axle tag trailer is a heavy duty trailer that couples to the rear of a rigid truck using a pintle hook, Bartlett or Ringfeder hitch.
The tag trailer carries part of its load through the truck’s drawbar, while the three axle group supports the remainder of the load. With our tri axle tag trailers, the three 19.5-inch, eight stud axles provide an ATM of up to 27 tonnes.
How Much Weight Can a Tri Axle Trailer Carry?
The payload of a tri axle trailer depends on its GVM, tare weight, axle ratings and configuration. Our tri axle tag trailers have an ATM of up to 27 tonnes and a carry capacity of up to 20.8 tonnes, with the tri axle group rated above 22.5 tonnes.
